MTN, South African based international mobile operator and World Branding Awards 2016 Brand of the Year winner certainly understands the power of branding and marketing. And it also understands the value of airport advertising as it continues communicating its brand messaging to consumers in this highly targeted and effective Out-of-Home environment.
The brand recently highlighted its ‘Your Life. Our Network’ campaign on a series of thirty-seven static panels at Cape Town International’s domestic arrivals hall. With a highly desirable mix of business and leisure travel, the gateway to the Mother City is an ideal destination for brands aiming to communicate with a wide range of consumers.
Says Mzukisi Deliwe, spokesperson for Airport Ads®: “The campaign took full advantage of the platform. Positioned on panels facing meeters and greeters in the domestic terminal, the brand made effective use of alternating product messaging with highly engaging lifestyle images. This type of creative execution, designed specifically for the format ensures both maximum brand visibility and consumer recall in this high dwell-time area.”
The campaign was visible to domestic travellers and meeters and greeters throughout March 2017. The environment provides a highly competitive CPM when compared to other media formats, with a foot traffic count of over 330,000 people being exposed to brand messaging in the area per month.
“Airports provide an ideal advertising environment for telecommunications brands such as MTN. The platform delivers high recall and engagement. In designing creative specifically for the platform, the brand has ensured that messaging is not only targeted and visible, but tailored for impact,” concludes Deliwe.
