Shanèy Vijendranath, CEO of MomSays, named as one of this year’s Forbes 30 under 30

Forbes has just released their much-anticipated 30 under 30 list for 2019, and MomSays founder Shanèy Vijendranath has been named as one of SA’s most influential under-30’s in the 2019 Business category.

This year is the fifth edition of Forbes 30 under 30 list, which celebrates young game-changers in creative, technology and business. The voting process systematically works through hundreds of entries and individually researches and verifies each business.

According to Shanèy, “Having MomSays recognised and rewarded by Forbes is an honour. I am incredibly proud of what we have built with our platform and I hope this achievement shows all moms that are entrepreneurs out there that you just need to keep at it. This isn’t just a personal win for me, it is also a win for the mommy bloggers community in South Africa which sometimes doesn’t get the credit it deserves in the influencer space.”

MomSays was recognised for its innovative approach in connecting companies with moms. When Shanèy became a first-time mom, she quickly recognised a need for a platform where moms could review products and get product advice from the people who can give the most accurate insight: other moms. In SA, 60% of household buying decisions are made by women, and many of them are moms.

Forbes recognised Shanèy and MomSays for identifying an incredibly strong market and finding creative ways to tap into it. Thanks to a user-friendly platform and the power of word-of-mouth marketing and social media, MomSays has grown exponentially and is fast becoming the go-to resource for moms across the country when they’re in need of product advice.

The recognition from Forbes is proof that MomSays is addressing a crucial business need in a very powerful buying market.
