British Airways (operated by Comair) has been recognised as the top airline in the Airline Industry Category at the 17th annual Ask Africa Orange Index® awards ceremony.
The awards, established in 2001, are regarded as the broadest and most widely-referenced service excellence benchmark in South Africa, covering over 31 industries and 168 companies. Its extensive sample size of 15 000 interviews, provides a reliable yardstick for customer service benchmarking and social profiling.
Shaun Pozyn, Head of Marketing for British Airways (operated by Comair), says “Winning this award for the third consecutive year is a wonderful accomplishment as it shows that our investment in excellent service is providing a great customer experience for all our travellers.
“Not only is the award a good indicator that our offering to business travellers meets their needs, through products like the British Airways frequent flyer programme, Executive Club and the SLOW Lounges, but also for all our travellers that fly with us for leisure.”
Pozyn adds, “We’re especially pleased that the award comes as we count down the months until we welcome our brand-new Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft in early 2019. Apart from their modern, more environmentally friendly design, these aircraft will have added benefits for our business and leisure travellers, such as increased seating capacity and other improvements to their ergonomics, and reduced downtime for maintenance.
“We continually strive to provide the best services for those passengers who choose to travel with us and we will continue to do so by flying our customers to more destinations in Africa, whilst offering our signature British Airways hospitality onboard,” concludes Pozyn.
