Sunu the most awarded director at #Loeries2017

Egg Films’ Sunu was the most awarded director at The Loerie Awards; his Absolut One Source campaign with Native VML and Khuli Chana took home 11 awards from 15 nominations: two Golds, three Silvers, two Bronzes and four Craft Certificates, including one for Direction.

Original Is Never Finished, Egg’s adidas Originals campaign with Johannes Leonardo and RSA Films, was another big winner, picking up two Gold Crafts awards, for Terence Neale’s direction and William Boyes’ production design.

In all, Egg took home 13 awards, the most of any production company, even without counting Kyle Lewis’ Gold, four Silvers, three Bronzes and a Craft with their sister company Arcade Content or Dan Mace’s two Bronzes and a Craft with Groundglass for Tusker Here’s To Us with Net#work BBDO.

“In tough economic times when most marketers are being conservative, it’s great to get the opportunity to produce such brave work for Native VML and Absolut and Johannes Leonardo and adidas Originals.  Thanks to everyone who helped make these jobs such a success,” says executive producer Colin Howard. “We’re delighted for Sunu and Terence and all our amazing crew who were recognized with craft awards, from William’s production design on adidas Originals to Orangotang Music’s sound design, Gordon Midgely’s edit, Rory O’Grady’s cinematography and Sylvia Tetteyfio’s production design on Absolut.”

Egg had 23 finalists going into the weekend, not counting Arcade Content’s 16 and Dan Mace’s seven for Tusker.

Earlier this week, Egg found out Original Is Never Finished is shortlisted for Branded Entertainment: Music and Film: Short Form at The Clio Awards. Since the start of the year, Egg’s ads have racked up over 100m views online and a host of accolades, including a Grand Prix and Gold at Cannes Lions.
