Connect wins RCL FOODS media account

by mm Ed 13th Oct 2017, 12:38 pm

Connect (an M&C Saatchi company) has acquired the RCL FOODS media account in a highly contested media agency pitch.

Durban based RCL FOODS, a leading South African food producer and distributor, are custodians to a wide range of household brands including Yum Yum peanut butter, Nola mayonnaise, SA’s favourite maize based drink Mageu Number 1, Selati sugar and pet food Bobtail.

“We were looking for more than a media agency” says Rob Laggar, Marketing Director of RCL FOODS. “We were looking for a partner who will collaborate with us on a journey as we continue to build the great brands that sit under the RCL FOODS umbrella. Throughout the pitch process Connect showed a deep understanding of our consumers and brands and the potential touchpoints that we can use.”

Martin MacGregor, Managing Director of Connect said: “It is both exciting and a great responsibility to be entrusted with handling such great South African brands. We love the challenge of trying to find new and interesting ways of connecting brands with consumers, and bringing great brand ideas alive across all potential touchpoints, particularly in the digital era.”

Connect is an independent media agency, set up in March 2013, operating within the M&C Saatchi Group in South Africa. Connects clients include Takealot.com, Hollard Insurance, Premier FMCG, Continental and its retail outlet Best Drive, PSG Group, Superbalist.com, Deloitte and Weylandts. Billings exceed R300m.
