Yolisa Pasipanodya has been appointed Managing Director of South Africa’s leading communications company, Meropa Communications.
She takes over from Patrick Gearing who has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Meropa Group.
The company, one of the largest full-service agencies in the country and listed in the top 250 globally*, is 51% black-owned and has Level 2 B-BBEE status.
“As a proudly African agency, Meropa is committed to transforming and uplifting society and our industry and our philosophy that those who run the business should own the business,” said Gearing.
Yolisa, who has been with Meropa for more than 10 years, says she is delighted to lead the company with a strong commitment to facilitate effective communication between clients and the public.
Meropa Chairman, Peter Mann, said: “We are delighted. No-one is as deserving as Yolisa to lead the company.
“She has the passion, she understands our client needs and is a hands-on manager. We are continuing to expand and strengthen the services we deliver to clients – and Yolisa is uniquely placed to lead this growth.”
Prior to her appointment, Yolisa led Meropa’s Public Sector business and served on the Board. She has managed a host of key clients in both the public and private sector.
