Brand Union welcomes Tanya Munetsi who started this month as Account Director in the Johannesburg agency. Described as an optimist who is enthusiastic, thrives under pressure, and embraces change, she promises to be a dynamic addition to the largest global brand agency in South Africa.

Tanya boasts an impressive education. She attained a Diploma of Communications from the Sydney Institute of Business and Technology, as well as a Bachelor of Arts Major in Media and Cultural Studies at Macquarie University of Sydney, Australia. And in order to remain relevant in the digital world, she completed a Digital Marketing Certificate at Red and Yellow School.

She is well travelled and throughout her years has taken up residence in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania, Zimbabwe and South Africa. This experience is what Tanya believes has helped develop her sense of ease in changing circumstances and conditions, plus nurtured her passion, vision and innovative for African ideas.

Having worked at Saatchi and Saatchi, Grey Advertising and The Firehouse Group, across large brands such as Sensodyne, Ariel, Pampers, Head and Shoulders, Pantene and Olay throughout South, East and West Africa, Tanya is well versed in brand management. She shared, “One of my proudest and most difficult career moments so far was helping to launch Ariel Washing Powder in South Africa.”

Mathew Weiss, managing director of Brand Union Africa commented on her appointment saying, “Tanya is passionate about innovation in the Africa, and has a lot to offer with her sunny disposition, curious nature and a desire and ambition to succeed. We are confident that our clients will enjoy her high energy and focus on their business.”
