Nishara Naidoo has been appointed as the Sales and Marketing Manager at Umfolozi Hotel Casino Convention Resort, primarily responsible for positioning the resort as the ultimate entertainment destination in KwaZulu-Natal. Naidoo graduated with an honour’s degree in Drama and English from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in 1997.
Her career spans 20 years and includes prominent roles such as in Senior Events Manager at the Durban International Convention Centre, Group Head Account Director for Africa, Middle East and Turkey at The Hardy Boys, and Brandy Strategy Consultant for the eThekwini Municipality and Moses Mabhida Stadium. She has also worked on and produced events like The Vodacom Durban July Boomtown, The Midmar Mile, and various international and local concerts and exhibitions. “With almost 20 years’ experience in events planning, branding, advertising and marketing, Naidoo brings extensive insight and direction to the role, and we understand she has some exciting plans in store for Umfolozi Hotel, Casino & Convention Resort,” says Pam Nagappa, General Manager at Umfolozi. “Nishara moved from Durban to Empangeni to occupy this role, and we are truly pleased to have her join the team. I know she will make a tremendously positive impact on the resort.”
As part of her role at Umfolozi, Naidoo will manage and oversee marketing, by formulating and implementing a marketing strategy in line with the overall complex and business strategy for Umfolozi Casino. “I am determined to foster mutually beneficial relationships with my network of media, influencers and celebrities, while also maintaining and improving the brand offering of Umfolozi. I am also passionate about employee morale and drive, and as such I want to ensure that our staff love and live the brand as much as I plan to do,” says Naidoo.
